Are These Spectacles a Spectacle?

Recently I went to the optometrist to renew my prescription for my glasses. I knew that there had been a change since I had them updated three years ago, because I was finding some signs a little blurry.

I was surprised by some of the new equipment they had: machines that almost made it look like the optometrist himself was now obsolete.

While there have been some changes in technology in the last three years, they still use some of the tried and tested old methods, including the one on the right, which I think make an absolutely stunning pair of spectacles - don't you agree?
