Creepy Correlation

I was watching a science-fiction program on television tonight about a man obsessed with a young woman he knew who had committed suicide. The woman's mother had given approval for her daughter's organs to be used to save the sight and lives of other people. The creepy man than went and took back all of the organs that had been donated, as you can imagine, killing most of the recipients in the process.

It was a pretty gruesome kind of idea, and then about half-way through the program, a rather interesting ad, if a little disturbing was played. It was a government-funded advertisement reminding people that they should let their families know if they had made a decision about donating their organs after death.

Was this deliberate? If so, rather tacky, but certain to stick in people's minds!
