Marco Polo

A few months back I managed to get some great photos of two powerful owls that have taken up residence in the local area. I had been hearing them for months and at that time was unable to determine what kinds of owls they were. Then they were spotted by the next-door-neighbours in a tree and I dashed over and snapped away happily on my camera.

One night recently I was sitting out on the back patio, enjoying the quiet night when I heard one of the owls calling from a distance away to my left. Then straight afterwards I heard the other one calling back about a third of a kilometre away on my right. It almost seemed like one was calling out "Marco!" and the other "Polo."
