A Real Live Rhinocerus at Our House!

We spotted a live rhinocerus at our home the other day...ok, so it was a rhinocerus beetle. It was actually kind of cute close up. This one was a female as it is only the males that have horns. The males use the horns to fight each other for territory and females I believe.

JD managed to snap an even closer shot of its eyes:

And just when you were hoping there were going to be no more photos of bugs, here's a praying mantis that I spotted around the same time:
