Local Birdlife

A few years ago I purchased a reasonable digital camera and quickly realised that it just wouldn't be good enough for wildlife photograph. A year later I upgraded to a better camera. Then about 5 months ago I upgraded to an even better digital with 25 optical zoom and 12 megapixels.

So far I've been able to get some magnificent shots with both cameras, and thought today that I might start sharing some of the birdlife photos that I've captured in the region in the last few years.

I hope you enjoy them:
Bird of prey

 Pied Cormorant or Shag

 Pacific Black Duck and ducklings
 Masked Lapwing or Spur-winged Plover

Little Friarbird

White-breasted Woodswallow

Sacred Kingfisher
